Christian Education

All Saints has Christian Education programming for all ages, including our Sunday School, Confirmation age youth as well as adults.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

All children from the age of 3 through 5th grade are welcome.  They  begin worship in the sanctuary and after the children’s sermon are invited down to the Sunday School classroom area.  Sunday School provides an informative, fun-filled and inspiring curriculum that consists of a lesson from the Bible and a contemporary story to explain how the Biblical story relates to the children in their life today.  Games such as Bible Bingo, Bible Verse Scramble, word search, cryptograms, mazes, crossword puzzles, and special experiments are used to reinforce the meaning of each story.  The children also enjoy making a craft to take home as a reminder of the weekly lesson.  We emphasize that we all are children of God who loves each of us always!

CONFIRMATION

Confirmation is a public profession of faith prepared for by careful and thoughtful instruction.  It is an “affirmation of baptism” and a public reaffirmation of faith.

The intent of confirmation is to be a grace-filled, enjoyable time of growth and support of faith.  The two years spent in confirmation classes are intended to have confirmands explore their faith, the Bible, and Lutheran doctrine in the hope and trust that God will continue to lead and guide them in all aspects of their lives now and in the future.

Youth tend to begin the program in the seventh grade however the program is open to all children of God.  Confirmation meets weekly and each unit lasts for 10 weeks.

Our curriculum covers sections of Luther’s Small Catechism, The Ten Commandments, The Apostle’s Creed, The Lord’s Prayer, Holy Baptism and Holy Communion, the Bible and Lutheran theology as they are applied to our everyday lives.
